If you need a camera with super-zoom and very good quality then the P1000 is the beat if not the only camera for you.
Not just for moon photos, this camera can take great photos in different situations and scenarios
The manual mode is great if you know what you’re doing, in this mode you can control ISO, Shutter speed and aperture, there is also the choice for a manual focus.
If you’re more interested in point and shoot then you can choose between different scene modes that are more than enough to cover everything you may need.
And if you’re like me a enthusiastic photographer you can get the accessories for it (filters, batteries, tripod? Etc…) believe me these will make a difference

If you are keen to explore/capture far way objects, this camera is the best . This is one and the same as a DSLR in day time but night time the you cannot expect the same capture quality of pictures with this .Best part is that with this camera , you don’t have hassle.to change lenses again.Best handy camera when your aim is to travel with family and capture pictures quickly rather than changing lenses .
